Map of New England. In the upper left corner is an inset map of FORT FREDERIK/ a French Incroachment/ built 1731 at/ Crown Point/ or rather/ Scalp Point/ From a French Draught. Along the right center are Observations on which this Map is grounded that includes a list of sources used in compiling the map and an explanation of abbreviations and symbols. A PLAN of/ BOSTON HARBOR/ from an Accurate/ SURVEY is in the lower center. The title cartouche includes an imaginary vignette of the landing of the Pilgrims at Plymouth in 1620. In the lower right border is the imprint November 29.th 1755 Published according to Act by Thos Jefferys Geographer to His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales near Charing Cross
