Patriots Route Loyalists at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge, North Carolina

A force of about 1,400 Scottish Highlanders, complete with bagpipes and claymores, and other loyalists is shattered by 1000 patriot troops at the Battle of Moores Creek Bridge. The patriots capture 850 men, 1500 rifles, and many other weapons and supplies in what will turn out to be the only engagement of the war in North Carolina until 1780.
