Yorktown Tea Party

Learning that the merchant ship Virginia, lying in York River, has in its hold two half-chests of tea consigned to a Williamsburg merchant, angry citizens board the ship, then "immediately hoisted the Tea out of the Hold and threw it into the River." Two days later, almost 500 Williamsburg merchants sign the Continental Association and present it to Peyton Randolph.
