Virginia House of Burgesses pass Henry's Resolves
The Virginia House of Burgesses passes five of Henry's seven resolves, the fifth and most strident of them by only one vote. The House votes the next day to expunge the fifth resolve from its journal, but radicals in others colonies seize on the news to adopt similar measures.
