France Surrenders Montreal
The last French troops in Canada are left no choice but to surrender to the British forces after 17,000 troops converge on the city from three sides. The capitulation effectively ends the war in North America and allows Pitt to turn his attention to defeating France on the battlefields of Europe and at sea.
