Braddock's Army Routed at Battle of the Monongahela

An expeditionary force comprised of British regulars and provincials under the command of highly regarded Major General Thomas Braddock is surprised and then routed by a combined French and Native force near Fort Duquesne, in western Pennsylvania. Braddock, most of his officers, and two-thirds of his soldiers are killed or wounded.
